The striking patterns across the face of this labradorite crystal blended harmoniously with the criss-crossing branches of the trees overhead as I nestled down beside a babbling stream, bare feet in the water, crafting a simple but sturdy frame of sterling silver, enjoying the chorus of visiting piwakawaka, (NZ fantails), tuis, and paradise ducks. It wasn’t until the pendant was complete, I noticed the angel on the reverse side. Of course, my imagination then had a lot of fun divining birds on the front and back of the beautiful stone, but the angel was the image that persisted.
