Who I Am

My website address is https://kathrynjane.co.nz. I’m Kathryn, the artist behind Kathryn Jane Design.

Personal Information

When you place an order or contact me, I may collect personal information such as your name, email address, telephone number, billing address and delivery address, as appropriate to your enquiry or purchase.

I use this information to process and deliver your orders, communicate with you about your purchases, respond to enquiries, and manage any requests relating to compliments, refunds or complaints.

For deliveries, your name and delivery address are provided to the relevant delivery service. For international shipments, the information required for customs documentation may also be provided, including a description and value of the goods.

I take reasonable steps to protect the personal information I hold against loss, unauthorised access, use or disclosure. Information is accessible only as needed to operate my business and fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, subject to any legal requirements.

I may also use your contact details to send you updates about new creations if you have chosen to receive these. You can opt out of promotional emails at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions or contacting me directly. Order-related communications may still be sent when necessary to fulfil your purchase.

Payments

Payments are accepted through PayPal and by direct bank transfer. If you choose to pay by direct bank transfer, I receive the information needed to identify and reconcile your payment.

When you pay through PayPal, information necessary to process your payment may be shared with PayPal. This can include transaction details and information required to process or support the payment. Please refer to PayPal’s Privacy Statement for details about how PayPal handles personal information.

Kathryn Jane Design does not receive or store your full credit card details through PayPal. Please note that payment providers process information in accordance with their own privacy practices.

Cookies and Website Functionality

This website uses WordPress and WooCommerce, together with plugins that help provide shopping and other website functions. 

Cookies and similar technologies may be used to support website functionality, including keeping track of items in your shopping cart, remembering products you have viewed, and helping with checkout and shipping calculations. 

Depending on the tools enabled on the website, technical information such as your IP address, browser type and approximate location may also be processed to support website operation, security, shipping calculations or analytics.

Who I Share Your Information With

For example, delivery providers receive the information needed to deliver your purchase, and PayPal receives the information needed to process payments made through its service.

I do not share personal information for unrelated purposes unless authorised by you or permitted or required by law.

How Long I Retain Your Information

I retain personal information only for as long as it is reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, or for as long as I am legally required to keep it.

Business and tax records relating to sales and purchases are generally retained for at least seven years, as required for New Zealand tax record-keeping purposes. Other personal information may be retained for different periods depending on its purpose and any applicable legal requirements.

Under New Zealand’s Privacy Act 2020, you can ask to access the personal information I hold about you and request corrections if you believe it is inaccurate.

You can also contact me with questions about how your information is handled. Requests to delete personal information will be considered where appropriate, although some information may need to be retained to meet legal, accounting or other obligations.
