I’m so delighted to be able to offer options for those of you who love wearing gold!
Using 14 karat gold-filled wire, (14/20), I recently created a rainbow moonstone pendant specially for one of my lovely clients. The gold of the framework so beautifully complemented the gold flash running through the face of the stone. What a stunning combination! I can’t wait to create with moonstone and gold again soon!
Collaborating with another special client recently, I incorporated spiralling details of twisted 14 karat gold wire into the sterling silver design surrounding a tumbled lemon quartz, as per her request. What an absolutely spectacular result!
The gold-filled wire I use is 14/20 – a thick layer of 14 karat gold is bonded onto a core, consisting 1/20th – 5% – of the overall weight. As opposed to gold-plated wire with only a thin layer of gold electroplated onto a core, gold-filled wire, with its thick bonded gold layer, is a much more durable option. It’s also a lot more economical than solid gold.
I am also, able to offer solid 9ct gold as an option upon request.
Please feel free to reach out if you would like a pendant made, either using gold exclusively, or incorporating it into a sterling silver design.
