NZ Rhodonite Joyous Inner Child Pendant
From Akatore, in the deep south of New Zealand, this gorgeous rhodonite completely fills me with joy. From the moment I first laid eyes upon it, I imagined sitting in a cave, and seeing a child eagerly clambering up the rocks surrounding its mouth. All that can be seen is a brief glimpse of their torso and leg as they nimbly hoist themselves up, soon to be out of view. After working with the stone, I also felt the imagery could just as equally be interpreted as a child scrambling up a tall tree at the opening of a dense thicket. My sister divined a tall moa near a pool's edge, about to stoop for a drink. What do you see?
This stunning pear-shaped stone, with highly-polished, reflective rounded face and smooth, flat back, is a beautiful warm pink colour. In-keeping with the joyful nature of the playful child within, curls of twisted 925 sterling silver mirror the curves of the 'cave entrance', forming a secure, but whimsical, framework. Not only has this pendant been crafted in silver and skilfully shaped here in Aotearoa, New Zealand, but formed here, as well!
*On a rejuvenating bushwalk through the trees, I felt inspired to photograph this gorgeous pendant on the moss. Unfortunately a lot of light reflected off the face of the stone. I loved the bed of moss so much that I really wanted to use the photograph, so overlaid details from a photo of the pendant taken in a light filtering cone. The profile image with the white circle frame is gorgeous, and captures the feeling of a mossy cave, but the image of the pendant itself is a composite image. Please view the other photographs to see the true image of the playful pendant.
I find it rather serendipitous that one of the metaphysical uses of rhodonite is to help one reconnect with their inner child.
Whether to go inward to work with this "stone of compassion", or to enjoy wearing a stunning, unique item of jewellery, this gemstone crystal pendant would make such an amazing gift, either for yourself or someone else dear to your heart. I recommend you wear it on one of your favourite sterling silver chains.
Approximate dimensions: Length 50mm Width 27mm Depth 8mm
You’ll receive your pendant beautifully presented, tied into a classic Kathryn Jane Design jewellery box with silver-coloured thread. If purchasing as a gift, and you’d like the pendant presented on a chain, silver-coloured display chains and sterling silver belcher chains are available. The display chains are for presentation purposes only, (not for wearing the pendant on). The sterling silver chains are generally 45cm and 60cm long, but please feel free to contact me if you'd like a chain made to a unique length. The connector rings at each end are pinched closed with the greatest of care. They are not, however, soldered.
A wee note about the images:
I attempt to take crisp, sharp photographs that can be zoomed in on to clearly show the details of the gemstone pendants. In doing so, the pendants are then being viewed at a much larger size than in real life, so details of the stones' structure are exaggerated. Many is the time I've viewed a photograph and seen a detail that I simply don't perceive when viewing the pendant up close with 'ma naked eyes'.
Also, please be mindful that individual colour settings on monitors or device screens may alter the appearance of the colour of pendants. Multiple photos are taken on my smartphone, usually indoors and out, in an effort to best capture the colour of the stone. (With labradorite, I try to capture images without the display of colours showing, and then with the light revealing the amazing display of flashy colour in all its magnificence.)

Royal Blue Lapis Lazuli Pendant
The depth of royal blue in this lapis lazuli is breathtakingly beautiful. The streak of golden pyrite twinkling halfway through the stone adds a positively regal touch. Being such a deep stone, the weight of it is very 'solid' and reassuring.
The sterling silver spirals either side at the top add a further touch of flair, as if epaulettes signifying rank.

With lapis lazuli widely considered a stone of friendship, this gorgeous pendant would make such an amazing gift, either for yourself or someone else dear to your heart. I recommend you wear it on one of your favourite sterling silver chains.

Stunning Unique Larimar Pendant
With its gorgeous, soft, turquoise-blue hues, it isn’t at all difficult to see why larimar, from the Dominican Republic in the Caribbean, is such a sought after gemstone. This is a gorgeous specimen, undeniably, and a good deal ‘weightier’ than many of the larimar cabs I usually create with. I found the weight of it reassuringly solid as I crafted the sterling silver frame around it, but it wasn’t until the final spirals were completed at the rear of the pendant that it seemed to come to life. It is absolutely stunning!
I love all the pendants I create. From the moment I hand-select the gemstones, hold each as I form a sterling silver framework around it, to then admire the completed pendant, I feel an immense fondness for the journey and am usually in awe of the way the gemstone crystal comes to life with its newly-fashioned frame. Obviously I can’t keep every pendant I make and love for myself, because there are simply not enough days in the year for me to allow each their time in the sun, but I must confess, I adore this one.
If this beauty is calling to you, get in quick. It will make such an outstanding gift, either for yourself, or someone else you love. I recommend you wear it on one of your favourite sterling silver chains.

The turquoise-blue hue of larimar is one I really struggle with trying to capture accurately. Of course, it appears different depending on the lighting. If I had to choose which images have captured the colour most accurately, I'd say the outside filtered photo with grass background has captured the turquoise hue most accurately, and the outdoor bright light with leaves in the background has captured the clean, bright white of the face most accurately. (Most accurate when viewed on my phone.)

Atlantisite Pendant
Among other properties, Atlantisite is thought to inspire a connection to ancient wisdom. This gorgeous specimen evokes a deep sense of mystery within me, perhaps because I feel I'm gazing upon a section of an ancient map that portrays a purple primordial New Zealand, (illustrated by stichtite), forming in a sea of pretty light-green serpentine.
The minimalist sterling silver framework compliments this unique stone perfectly, holding it securely without overshadowing the gorgeous colours.
